The American Heretics Comedy Tour!
Equal parts standup and philosophy.
Yuk Yuk’s Toronto Thursday, April 13 – Saturday, April 15
The American Heretics Comedy Tour features the collective talents of Tom Simmons, Stewart Huff and Jay Whitecotton.
While all three comedians have separately toured comedy clubs and theaters across the country, they’ve decided to come together to create a show far different than any you’ve seen before.
Part storytelling, part current events and part exploration into the bigger ideas, you’ll see why these three comics are becoming underground favorites on stages and festivals across the country.
“Tom Simmons is getting dangerously close to being an adjective reserved for only some of the best stand up comedians of all time: prolific.” – The Serious Comedy Site
“Stewart Huff had recent Fringe audiences rolling in the aisles with his hilarious monologues Donating Sperm to My Sister’s Wife and Darwin vs. Rednecks, but his latest work will make you stretch your brain as well as bust a gut.” – Orlando Weekly
“Whitecotton can truly find the laughter in anything. Even at his most vulnerable you can’t help but join him and laugh at the darkest moments of his life. That is the very crux of this album, finding the light in the darkest of places.” – ovrld.com
Tom Simmons is a national headliner highly regarded for his joke writing and ability to find punchlines in subjects most choose to ignore. From the Federal Reserve to Passive Resistance, Tom can dissect any subject, find the funny, and has used this skill to consistently kill audiences all over the country. Self effacing and predominantly liberal, Tom is able to make audiences on both sides of the political spectrum laugh due to his commitment to the craft and insistence on never taking himself too serious.
Having avoided “the move” to LA or NY, Tom Simmons is a devoted father and husband raising his family in Greensboro, North Carolina. He’s been featured on Comedy Central, BET, Showtime and won the prestigious San Francisco International Comedy Competition. Between tours he can be seen on his news and pop culture based web series “So Then There’s This” and his albums can be found on iTunes, Amazon and Pandora Radio. @TSimmonsComedy
After dropping out of college to become a writer, Stewart Huff has spent the past fifteen years grinding a career out on the road. He’s pursued an almost hobo-like existence driving across the country performing on any and every stage possible, occasionally sneaking into empty motel rooms to catch a quick shower. He’s been featured in the Wall Street Journal, NPR, Laughs on FOX and the documentary ‘Road Comics: Big Work on Small Stages’ now currently streaming on Hulu.
Quickly gaining a reputation as a ‘comedian’s comedian you have to see’ Huff is transforming the medium with his own unique brand of expert storytelling combined with high art themes. With his last one-man show ‘Sense Aint Common’ winning 2016 Critic’s Choice for Best Comedy at the Orlando Fringe Festival.
Stewart currently lives in Atlanta, Georgia with his girlfriend where he drops off the various items he collects from the road, including an antique barber chair, countless vintage photographs, and an extensive collection of LP’s. She likes this. @StewHuff
Somehow this was not a setback.
Based in Austin, Texas he is quietly painting himself in the corner with no other option, but becoming a full time comedian. He’s performed at Funny or Die’s Oddball Fest, Las Vegas Punk Rock and Bowling Festival, Moontower Comedy Fest, and many more. In 2016 his debut album hit #1 on iTunes comedy and he taped for FOX. @whitecotton
